New security requirements for approving online purchases: In the future, you will only be able to approve online purchases in the Swiss Bankers app. Approval by one-time password via SMS (formerly “Mastercard SecureCode”) will soon no longer be possible.
New payment standards and European laws require two-factor authentication (2FA) for online purchases that meets the highest security requirements. Mastercard Identity Check ensures this and protects your data even more effectively. This new procedure simultaneously ensures increased security and more convenience when shopping online with your Swiss Bankers card.
When shopping online, you will be prompted to approve the payment in the Swiss Bankers app after entering your card details. Two security factors are now checked: access to your smartphone and your credentials in the Swiss Bankers app.
You can activate Mastercard Identity Check free of charge in just a few steps:
A: Do you already have the Swiss Bankers app installed?
Select “Mastercard Identity Check” on your card’s home screen and tap the “Activate Mastercard Identity Check” button.
B: Don’t have the Swiss Bankers app installed yet?
Once you have added your card in the Swiss Bankers app, Mastercard Identity Check is automatically activated. Have fun shopping safely online!
